Toni Kamula (1978) is a Finnish Helsinki based director-actor and a film photography enthusiast with a background in media arts. He’s born in Kempele by the Gulf of Bothnia. As an actor he has worked on screen in both television and film productions, theatre (ie. The Finnish National Theatre, Helsinki City Theatre and Lahti City Theatre). As a voice talent he has worked in audio dramas, animated TV series, commercials, and various voice-over projects. He has narrated more than three hundred audiobooks in Finnish.

The recording uses the translation by Alice Martin and Panu Pekkanen who are well known in Finnish literature for their ability to translate Tolkien’s verses while maintaining the strict meters and internal rhymes. The translation captures the whimsical, ancient, and slightly absurd nature of Tom Bombadil, using a rich, slightly archaic Finnish vocabulary.
