Eilev Groven Myhren (born 1973) is a Norwegian philologist, translator, music major and a Norwegian Norse and folklore scholar. His translation of JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings into Ringdrotten (2006) is notable for its active use of Nynorsk, High Norwegian and Norwegian dialects to characterize the different peoples of Midgard . He received the 2006 Nynorsk Literature Prize and the 2007 Johannes H. Berg Memorial Prize, for the translation.

There are two official forms of Norwegian – Bokmål and Nynorsk and thus two different “Norwegian” translations, one for each of the two official forms.
