Stig Tomas Norström (1956–2021) was a respected Swedish actor on stage and screen, director, and audiobook narrator known for his work in film, television, and literature. He was a prolific voice behind many Swedish audiobooks.

Norström was known for his “earthy” and warm voice. Unlike a neutral reading, he gave distinct, often humorous voices to the dwarves and a particularly memorable, raspy interpretation of Gollum. It captures the “children’s book” feel of the original Hobbit while maintaining enough weight for adult listeners. Following the tradition of Rob Inglis, Norström performed the songs and poems within the text, giving a melodic, folky rhythm to the dwarven chants.
