Thierry Janssen, born in 1972, is a Belgian actor, writer and director. He has appeared in a host of television and radio productions and is an extensive voice artist and audiobook narrator. Trained in clowning and commedia dell’arte, Thierry Janssen has worked with Carlo Boso and Franco Dragone, among others. He won the France Culture / Lire dans le noir audiobook award for his reading of Temps glaciaires.

Like all modern Audiolib Tolkien releases, this recording uses the translation by Daniel Lauzon which uses the updated French names that align with Tolkien’s linguistic guidelines, such as Fendeval (instead of Fondcombe for Rivendell) and Le Seigneur des Anneaux (in references to the wider lore).
