Anders Ribu (born 28 March 1956) is a Norwegian audiobook reader, translator and writer. He has 
read countless audiobooks as a reader and voice actor for both Cappelen Damm, Lydbokforlaget and above all Tibi – Biblioteket for tilrettelagget litteratur (formerly Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille), where he has been a staple voice since 1989.

Ribu is said to have a calm, professional, authoritative tone. He provides a steady, rhythmic flow that allows the listener to inhabit Tolkien’s world without distraction. He has also translated from English and German, co-authored books about children’s theatre and is associated with the Oslo Children’s and Youth Theatre as an instructor.

Ribu reads the translation by Torstein Bugge Høverstad (first published in the early 1970s) which is a well-regarded piece of work. Høverstad famously “Norwegianized” the names to capture the feeling of the Shire. The language is rich, slightly archaic, and very musical.
