In 2022 Brian Sibley’s edited collection of texts relating to the Second Age was published to coincide with the release of the Amazon television show The Rings of Power. Sibley pulled together a large collection of texts and references from many sources and edited them together into as coherent picture as possible. Whilst there was no new material, the arrangement and presentation represented a significant work and allows the Second Age to be viewed ‘as a whole’.

One week after the publication of the book, an unabridged audio recording was released, using the same ‘two voice’ approached used by HarperCollins in other similar publications (eg The Fall of Gondolin). Samuel West once again read the text whilst Sibley himself read the editorial annotations.
