This recording was not only planned but fully completed in 2009 however it was cancelled a few weeks before the published release date, despite pre-orders. It is still listed on Waterstones and was due to be a 5 x CD box. It has been speculated that in the pre-streaming era, there was a concern over just how much demand there would be. It is hoped that it will be released at some point in the future on a streaming service.

Brian Denis Cox CBE (born June 1, 1946) is a legendary Scottish actor whose career spans over six decades across stage, film, and audio. Born into a working-class family in Dundee, Scotland, Cox found his escape in the theatre, eventually training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He later voiced Helm Hammerhand in The War of the Rohirrim (2024).
